Laced Nude

At the moment, my go-to eyeshadow is a pink color from CoverGirl, but of course, I'm getting a little bored. Recently, I've been itching to get my hands on some nude eyeshadow palettes. The first palette to pop in my head is, of course, Urban Decay's Naked palette collection, but they're out of my price range at the moment, even the Basics palette. So when I saw some people talking about Physician's Formula Nude collections at just $11.50 per palette, I had to try.

I picked up the Classic Nude. What sold me first on this palette was the gorgeous packaging. The lace that wraps around the cover is actual lace fabric and not some graphic design, and with that tangible detail, it feels extra special. The magnetic flap also adds a bit more umph to the design, especially for the drugstore price. The product is also small and can easily fit in a handbag. So far, this palette receives an A for packaging.

So let's talk about the colors.

I did expect some shimmer after previewing the colors through the box, but it is really shimmery / metallic. And after swatching them, the light colors kind of just blend together and becomes a bit hard to define one color from the next.. kinda making the various colors a bit pointless. It gets a C in color pigmentation.

Overall, the Classic Nude palette by Physician's Formula might be a good addition to your collection if you don't already have a dedicated skin-toned palette or you're really into shimmery eyeshadow. If that's not the case, I would probably consider another palette.

Edit: I applied e.l.f.'s eyeshadow primer before applying the eyeshadow, and the effects were better by just a hint.
